Propagation Using the Spray Drip Down at Decker Nursery

DECKER NURSERY (SPRAY DRIP DOWN) and ROBOTIC STICKING
Select your Format: AVI MOV WMV

The Spray Drip Down is used to propagate plants from cuttings.

Take plant cuttings. Stick the cutting in media. Spray the leaves until the Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts rooting solution drips down. The method has many advantages. For large or small production lots, the cuttings are rapidly and uniformly treated with the Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts rooting solution. With minimum labor, there is no pre-treatment when sticking. Treatment is performed by a trained applicator. The solution is used one time. There is never cross contamination between production lots.

The Method is easy to use
Stick the cuttings in media in trays, pots, or in beds. Make up a Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts rooting hormone solution. The solution contains rooting hormones that promote root formation. A fine mist sprayer is used, such as a hand, backpack or hydraulic sprayer. Boom sprayers are not used since they have limited control of the spray. Spray the Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts rooting solution onto the leaves of the cuttings until the liquid drips off the leaves. If the leaves were wet from misting before treatment then use an excess of spray to overcome dilution. An excess of spray is preferred. After treatment turn on misters after the solution dries on the leaves, or about forty five minutes. Then continue your normal operations.
