ppm is an abbreviation of parts per million.
ppm is a value that represents the part of a whole number in units of 1/1,000,000= One Million.
In practice, you can make your solution in any part of quarts, gallons, liters, milliliters, or whatever.
For RATES: Quick Dip Basal Long Soak Foliar: Total Immerse and Spray Drip Down
PREPARATION NOTES see below.
For what is ppm, see below
Each line in the calculator below has it's own calculation for unit volumes (in liters, ml, gallons, quarts or fluid ounces) and the weight of Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts (in grams or ounces).

(FOR LARGE VOLUMES ignore the digits after the decimal and round to the nearest whole number.)
WHAT IS "ppm"?
"ppm" is an abbreviation of parts per million.
ppm is a value that represents the part of a whole number in units of 1/1,000,000 (one millionth).
In practice, an IBA (K-IBA) solution can be made to liquid unit volumes of ounces pints, quarts, gallons, milliliters, liters, or whatever.
An IBA (K-IBA) solution can be made to 100 ppm IBA to liquid units such as 10 ml, 10 liter, or 10 gallon, etc.
This table calculates the weight of Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts per liquid unit volumes.
NOTE:
To weigh Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts to make a solution as described in technical information, where 100% techical K-IBA or IBA was used, you need five times the weight of Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts.
The label reads "Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts (20%)" indicating it contains 20% IBA.
As benefit, you can use a lower resolution scale, precise weighing is lesser critical
PREPARING A HORTUS IBA WATER SOLUBLE SALTS®
(20%) SOLUTION USING WATER
1) Weigh the required amount of Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts.
Measure by weight not volume.
2) Use tap water at about 65-90F; measure less then the final
volume.
3) Mix: dissolve Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts in the water.
• If precipitation occurs with tap water then dissolve in distilled,
demineralized, or filtered water.
• Do not dissolve Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts in solvents
other than water.
4) Add water to the mixing container to bring the solution to the
final volume.
5) Apply the solution by the selected method.
6) After use, dispose of the solution as described in the ‘Storage
and Disposal’ statements on the label.
• For the Total Immerse and basal methods, dispose of solutions
between plant lots to avoid cross contamination.
• Stock solutions can be made in any concentration, to over
100,000 ppm IBA, using Hortus IBA Water Soluble Salts mixed in
water. At concentrations above 80,000 ppm IBA keep the solution above 75F to avoid having precipitation. If precipitation accors simply increase the temperature up to about 100F, then, the particles will stay in solution
UNIT CONVERSIONS:
Liquid units are in metric liters and milliters, US gallon, quarts and fluid ounces
[1 gallon (gal) = 3.78litres = 4 quart(qt) = 128 fluid ounces(fl oz).]
Dry units are in metric grams,
ounces
[1 ounce (oz av)= 28.34 grams (gm)= 2834 milligram (mg). In US and many other countries, the avoirdupois ounce is used]
